To my daughter Mary Stubb [Mary
Smithson], wife
of John Stubb of Norwood, to the Bond of £200 by the Rev Robert
Hitch and Henry Hitch. Also a further £200 which John Newsom
of
Snowdon owes upon his mortgage of lands at Snowden.
To my daughter Jane Fowler [Jane
Smithson], wife
of John Fowler, of Cattal, the yearly rent of all my real estate
now occupied by John Ellis. If she tries to sell or assign the
rent, then yearly rent to go to her children, Stephen Fowler,
Samuel Fowler, John Fowler, and William Fowler. At her death the
property is to be equally divided amongst her children.
To my daughter Ann Whitehead [Ann
Smithson],
the wife of William Whitehead of Knaresborough, the burgage house
in Briggate in Knaresborough, which I bought from John
Keighley,
with the shops and other buildings belonging.
To my grandson William Whitehead, which she had
before marriage, £100 when he reaches 21, and my Executor to
ensure he gets a good trade and maintain him until he reaches that
age.
Remainder of my Copyhold and Freehold property,
and the residue of my estate and effects, to my son Joshua
Smithson whom I appoint Executor.
