To my wife Elizabeth Metcalfe my house and the 3½ closes, and at her death Peter Metcalfe, our youngest son, is to have this copyhold estate.

On inheriting, my son Peter is to pay my eldest son, Marmaduke Metcalfe, £10, and to my second son, Major Metcalfe, £10, and to my grandson, Richard Gill, £3, and to the rest of my grandchildren, the children of Joseph Gill, 40s amongst them.

Residue of my goods, chattels and personal estate to my wife Elizabeth, whom I appoint Executrix.
