To my son Hugh Waite my Copyhold property of two ancient
buildings, occupied by my customary tenants George Bentley
and Thomas Deighton, and eight acres of land at Lane Head
at Beckwith Rossett, chargeable with my bequests.
To my son-in-law, Thomas Collitt and his wife Priscilla
Collitt [Priscilla Waite], 2s 6d each.
To my grandchildren Richard Collitt, Joseph Collitt, and
Mary Collitt, 10s to be shared amongst them. Also £10
amongst them when they reach 21.
To my daughter Mary Waite an annuity of £2 10s until
she marries; at which time she is to receive £20 within a month
of that event and a further £30 eleven months later. Should she
die before marrying then that £50 to be divided amongst her
sisters Priscilla Waite, Elizabeth Waite, Hannah Waite, and
Anne Waite.
To my daughter Elizabeth an annuity of £2 10s until she
marries; at which time she is to receive £20 within a month of
that event and a further £30 eleven months later. Should she die
before marrying then that £50 to be divided amongst her brothers
and sisters, Hugh, Joshua Waite, Priscilla, Mary, Hannah,
and Anne.
To my daughter Hannah an annuity of £2 10s until she
marries; at which time she is to receive £20 within a month of
that event and a further £30 eleven months later. Should she die
before marrying then that £50 to be divided amongst her brothers
and sisters, Hugh, Joshua Waite, Priscilla, Mary,
Elizabeth, and Anne.
To my daughter Anne an annuity of £4, the first payment
to be paid one year after 25th March 1741. Should she marry and
her husband attempts to sell this annuity, then my son Hugh is
to dispose of the annuity as he sees fit for the benefit and
support of his sister Anne.
To my sons Hugh and Joshua, all my personal
estate.
To my son Hugh my tenant right in Swindon belonging to Mr
Bethell with the leave and consent of the worshipful Hugh
Bethell of Swindon, Esq.
To my son Joshua my tenant right at Walton Head belong
to the honourable lady Sarah Good??? And the honourable Sir
Henry Good???, her son. At his death his widow to continue
with the farm. Should his widow then remarry then the farm to pass
to my son Hugh.
Should my eldest son Hugh be ejected from the farm I now
occupy at Swindon, then I give him the new house at Walton Head
and half the premises I occupy.
