Solomon Hoggard - 28th
November 1745 - N015
Farnham
To John Hill of Nidd, my house and garth at Farnham until John
Howard reaches 21, when he is to have it, and allowing his mother Mary
Howard to live there.
To John Howard two bedsteads, a long table, one form, and
oval table, four or five chairs, a dresser, and a long panel chest.
These items he may have when he reaches 21 and enters the house.
I have £45 at interest with Henry Slingsby which is due on
5th February next.
I give an annuity of 20s to Martha Key, the wife of Henry
Key of Spofforth, from the interest from the £45 until it is
repaid. She may then have £20 from the principal sum and John
Howard and his mother Mary to have the rest.
Should John die before reaching 21, then my house is to go
to Solomon Hill, the second son of John Hill of Nidd,
chargeable with 40s to each of his brothers.
Residue of my goods and chattels to John Hill, whom I
appoint Executor, chargeable with £5 to his daughter Mary Hill
when she reaches 21.
I have already given John Hill £5 for my funeral expenses.
