Knaresborough, Linen Weaver
To my daughter Betty Howgate £100 when she reaches 21;
chargeable to my burgage house in Kirkgate, Knaresborough, in which I
now live.
Should my daughter die before that age, then I give :
£20 each to my brothers William Howgate, Joseph Howgate,
and Jonathan Howgate, and £45 each to my brother Simon
Howgate, and sister Ann Chambers. All payable after the
death of my wife Elizabeth Howgate.
Should my wife die before my daughter, then :
An annuity of £8 to my brother William Howgate and Mr
Christopher Walton, of Knaresborough, for the maintenance and
education of my daughter until she reaches 21, and appoint them
Guardians.
My personal estate and effects to my wife, whom I appoint
Executrix.
