Thornbrough, Parish of Allerton Mauleverer, Gentleman
To my wife Alice Critchlay £20, and all my household
goods. Also an annuity of £30.
My real estate in Bilton with Harrogate to Richard Snowdon
of Clareton, and John Deeves of Marton cum Grafton, In Trust
to sell, and to keep the farm on at Thornbrough where I now live,
and place at interest for the maintenance and education of my
children. The money then to be equally shared amongst them when they
reach 21.
Should my children die before reaching 21, then the same to my
nephews and nieces, the children of my brother John Critchlay,
and of my sister Mary Furness, wife of Martin Furness.
£5 each to my Trustees for their care and trouble.

Codicil - 14th June 1784
Mentions a previous Will in which John Wing of Raby
Castle, County Durham, was a Trustee, but is now dead.
Appoints tuition of his daughter Nancy Critchlay to his
wife.
