Thomas Outhwaite - 2nd April 1824 - AB118

Scriven with Tentergate, Carpenter

All my houses and real estate to my wife Sarah Outhwaite, and all the interest arising out of my personal estate.

At her death :

I give to my son Matthew Outhwaite the house in which I now live, along with one half of the cowhouse behind it. Also some named furniture. Also 1/5th share of the yard at the rear.

The two houses in Scriven, now occupied by my son Matthew and Matthew Jackson, with the garden at the rear, to Sarah Baker, Austin Baker, and William Baker, the three children of the late Thomas Baker.

The house in Scriven, now occupied by Mary Barfe, and 1/5th share of the yard, to my daughter Elizabeth Outhwaite. Also some named furniture.

The house adjoining the above, now occupied by Ann Bannister, and 1/5th share of the yard, to my daughter Sarah Bruce. Also some named furniture.

The house adjoining the above, now occupied by Matthew Outhwaite, and 1/5th share of the yard, to my son William Outhwaite.

The house adjoining the above, now occupied by Thomas Outhwaite, and 1/5th share of the yard, to my son Thomas Outhwaite. Also some named furniture and the other half of the cowhouse.

The residue of my estate to my sons Matthew and Thomas, Upon Trust after the death of my wife, to sell and divide (after deducting £12 from the share for Matthew, and £9 from the share of Thomas) amongst my sons and daughters, Matthew, Elizabeth, Sarah Bruce, William, and Thomas, and the children of the late Thomas Baker.

Codicil - 10th March 1827

Revokes Thomas as a Trustee and Executor and appoints William Bramley the younger in his place.

Witnesses : Samuel Powell, Thomas Fairbank, Richard Cundall

Died 12th August 1827. Probate 9th October 1827. Effects under £100.

Small appraisal by Richard Simpson available.

Letter from William Bramley to Samuel Powell in which he declines to be a Trustee because it would cause unpleasantness.
