Thomas Boddy - 29th August 1742 - H085

Harrogate, Gentleman

To my nephew Stephen Russell my freehold and copyhold real estate at Beckwithshaw. Also 200. Also my garth at Sulphur Well, chargeable with 20s to the poor of Harrogate.

To my nephew Thomas Russell the estate I bought from Mr Howden the elder, and the land I bought from Mr Howden the younger, and the lands I bought from Mr Dawson, and the close I bought from John Abbey, and the close I bought from John Clark, chargeable with 50 to my nephew John Russell three years after my death, and 50 to my nephew Christopher Russell four years after my death, and an annuity of 20s for the poor of Harrogate.

To my sister Grace Raper [Grace Boddy] my leasehold estate at Bedale, that I have on lease from Lady Stapleton and [named items of furniture].

To my brother Christopher Boddy one guinea one year after my death.

Residue of my goods, chattels and personal estate to my nephew Thomas whom I appoint Executor.
