Knaresborough, Yeoman

I give Eller Close in the Parish of Stanler [?] to Thomas Knowles of Knaresborough, Brewer, and William Calvert of Penney Hill, Parish of Moor Monkton, Husbandman, and George Johnson of Hay Park, Parish of Knaresborough, Husbandman, In Trust to sell and use the money for my three grandchildren John Thompson, Mary Thompson, and Ellen Thompson as follows :

To my grandson John, £5.

To my granddaughter Mary, £5.

To my granddaughter Ellen, £40.

To my Trustees 10s each for their trouble.

Any remaining money from the sale to be divided amongst : My daughter-in-law Judith Thompson, whom I appoint sole Executrix, and my grandchildren John and Mary.

To my grandson John my ?????? and wearing apparel, my school books, and the chest of drawers in my lodging. I appoint Thomas Knowles as Trustee for him.

To my granddaughter Mary my common prayer book and one of Dr Taylor’s guides to ????. I appoint George Johnson as Trustee for her.

To my granddaughter Ellen the residue of my household goods that I brought from York to Knaresborough [long list follows].
