Jonathan Holmes - 20th April 1747 - N035

Thornthwaite, Parish of Hampsthwaite, Husbandman

To my wife Jane Holmes the income from my copyhold cottage, now occupied by Samuel Bake, until my son, Jonathan Holmes, becomes 21. She is to maintain him and have the tuition of him. Should she remarry then the tuition is to pass to my nephew William Holmes, who is then to become Executor, paying her only the interest on £50 until my son attains 21.

All my Copyhold property to my son Jonathan when he reaches 21, he then paying her yearly the interest on the £50.

Should my son die before inheriting then the same to my nephew William on the death of my wife, chargeable with £50 to my niece Hannah Petty, wife of John Petty.

All my personal estate to my wife and son, and appoint them Executors.
