Newbrigg, Yeoman

To my son John Moorhouse, after the death of my wife, all my freehold and copyhold estate at Newbrigg.

To my son Samuel Moorhouse my copyhold property at Darley, Birstwith and Felliscliffe. Also £150 when he reaches 21.

To my daughter Mary Moorhouse, £400

To my daughter Susannah Moorhouse, £300. Both to be paid when they reach 21 or get married.

The rents and profits from my real estate to be received by my Trustees for the benefit of my children’s maintenance and education until they reach 21.

I appoint my friends the Rev Bainbridge, Vicar of Hampsthwaite, Thomas Smith of Birstwith, Joshua Hardisty of Fewston, John Turpin of Hampsthwaite, and my mother Ellen Knightson, as Trustees, and they are to receive 1½ guineas each for their troubles.

I appoint my wife, Ellen Moorhouse, as Executrix.
