Wife of Nicholas Carter of Knaresborough

To my brother Christopher Cowper of Raskall, all my Freehold estate at Raskall, now tenanted by Mr Armstrong, chargeable with an annuity of £10 to my husband Nicholas.

If my brother dies without issue, then the same to my cousin George Candy, joiner, of Helperby, chargeable with :

£30 to his brother Thomas Candy.

£10 to his sister Isabella Candy.

Also to my brother Christopher, I give all my Freehold estates at Tollerton Lane, Parish of Alne.

If he dies without issue then the same to my cousin Mrs Ann Johnson of Knaresborough, chargeable with £50 to my cousin Ann Watson.

If he does have issue, then he is to pay £50 to my cousin Ann.

To my cousin Ann Watson £150 to be paid by my husband out of the £200 which I have at my disposal by virtue of my Marriage Article.

All my wearing apparel to be divided amongst my cousins Ann and Ann.
