Menwith with Darley, Parish of Hampsthwaite
To my son Thomas Haxby the house in which I now live, also
the garth to the North, along with the stable and shop in which I now
work. Also the fields called Lea Close on the South side, and Helm
Close, and the High Cringles, and half of the allotment in Dickson
Dikes. Also a piece of land to the West of the shop and turf house,
also half of the close called Intack. All chargeable with £25 to my
daughter Elizabeth Calverley.
To my grandson Robert Calverley £2 10 to be paid by my son Thomas
to my daughter Elizabeth.
My daughter Elizabeth to have all the goods which she can
prove to be hers, in my house and the adjoining housed occupied by David
Jackson.
To my wife Sarah Haxby [named items to the value of £2],
also an annuity of £2 10s payable by my son Thomas.
To my son William Haxby the house occupied by David
Jackson, along with the turf house and the house known as Book
house. Also [named closes]. All chargeable with £25 to my daughter
Mary Groves.
To my grandson Robert £2 10s to be paid by my son William
to my daughter Elizabeth.
To my wife Sarah an annuity of £2 10s, payable by my son William.
Residue of my estate to my son Thomas, whom I appoint, along
with my son-in-law Isaac Groves, Executors in Trust for my son William
until he reaches 21.
