Knaresborough, Yeoman

By a Surrender 15th May 1779, my real estate in Knaresborough and Scriven with Tentergate, which I bought off Christopher Benson, I give to my friends Thomas Wilks and William Hardwick, both of Knaresborough, Upon Trust :

To allow my wife, Ellen Scruton, to receive the rents and profit.

At her death my real estate to be sold and the money to be dispensed.

£80 to persons as per my wife’s Will.

Residue to my nephews and nieces.

My personal estate to my wife whom I appoint executrix.

Witnesses : John Simpson, Ann Peacock
