John Simpson - 5th March 1782 - T063

Birstwith, Parish of Hampsthwaite, Cordwainer

My copyhold estate is mortgaged to William Bramley the younger, of Birstwith., for £80.

To my wife Mary Simpson, whom I appoint executrix, power to renew the mortgage. I give her my real estate in the south side of Tang Beck, called Beck Ings, together with Allotment 880 [this refers to the Commissioners award on the enclosure of the Forest of Knaresborough] of 1r 26p In Trust for the payment of the aforementioned mortgage. Also all the rents and profits arising from my real estate. also all my personal estate, goods and chattels.

At her death all my real and personal estate to my children : John Simpson, Mary Jennings, wife of Joseph Jennings, Frances Chapman, wife of John Chapman, Sarah Clough, wife of John Clough, Elizabeth Robinson, wife of John Robinson, and Hannah Simpson.
