Thomas Ranson - 16th July 1777 - U006

Birstwith, Parish of Hampsthwaite, Sieve Maker

To my younger son Joseph Ranson the cottage, barn and two closes, also my allotment of common on the south side of the closes, in the hamlet of Felliscliffe and now occupied by George Stead. Also my bed, bedding, and my clock.

To my daughter Ann Woodhead, wife of Joseph Woodhead, £50, chargeable to the two closes given to my son Joseph.

To my eldest son Thomas Ranson half the house, barn, stable, and a little house adjoining the barn, and one close of copyhold land on the north side of the building called Cragg Close, and a little garth on the south side of the building, all in the hamlet of Birstwith and now occupied by him.

Rest of my estate to my son Thomas, whom I appoint executor.
