Charles Brown - 9th February 1787 - W008

Leeds, Merchant

To my sister Alice Brown £50 immediately on my death and a further £50 one year later. Also an annuity of £100 to start 18 months after my death. These to be charged to my real estate in Bilton with Harrogate.

My real estate at Bilton with Harrogate to my brother James Brown, and at his death the same to my nephews William Brown, James Brown, Charles Brown, and Fountaine Brown, sons of my brother James.

To my sister Alice the use of my household goods and furniture, and at her death the same to my nephews William and James, the sons of my brother James, James the son of my brother-in-law William Brown, Charles and Fountaine Brown, and my niece Jane Brown.

To my nephew, James, son of my brother-in-law, £2,500.

To my nephews William and James, the son of my brother-in-law, £500 Upon Trust to apply the interest for my niece Ann North. At her death the £500 to go to her son William North if he has reached 21, otherwise to receive the interest until that time.

To my niece Jane Brown £500 when she reaches 21

£100 each to my Executors.

The residue of my personal estate and effect to my nephews William Brown and James Brown the son of my brother-in-law, In Trust to invest and apply the interest for my brother James. At his death the residue to be divided amongst my nephews William, James, Charles and Fountaine.

I appoint William Brown and James Brown, son of my brother-in-law, as Executors.

Codicil - 9th February 1787

Adds his nephew Charles Brown as an Executor.

Witnesses : Edward Richardson, Francis Fairbank, William Benson

 

Codicil - 9th February 1787

The £2,500 to his nephew James s changed to £1,000 and removes him from being an Executor.
