John Midgley - 6th September 1799 - X034

Hay Park, Parish of Knaresborough, Yeoman

To John Lumley, who lives with me, the residue of the lease of my farm and all the growing crops and livestock, chargeable with £10 to James Paley of Knaresborough for the use of Emanuel Lumley and George Lumley six months after my death.

£5 each to my nephews and nieces.

Residue of my personal estate to my brother Jonathan Midgley whom I appoint executor.

Witnesses : John Atkinson, Edward Baynes



Codicil - 3rd May 1800

To my two nieces, the youngest daughters of my brother Stephen Midgley of Goldsborough, Labourer, [named items].

To my nephew Jonathan Midgley of Follifoot, Yeoman, £5 over and above the £5 in my Will. Should he die before 21 then the same to my nephew John Midgley and niece Mary Midgley, the children of Jonathan.

I now appoint John Lumley of Hay Park, Gardener, as executor, as my brother Jonathan is now dead.
