My copyhold real estate to my son Scott William Holmes at Pannal, and all my leasehold estate at Hampsthwaite.
If my son dies without heir, then the same to my brother George Holmes and sisters
Elizabeth Brewerton, wife of William Brewerton of Wike, Farmer, and
Mary Herren, wife of George Herren of Pannal, Husbandman. At their decease the same to my nephews
Robert Herren, George Jackson of Leeds, Linen Weaver, William Jackson of Leeds, Flax Dresser, and nieces
Elizabeth Jackson of Wike, Spinster, Elizabeth Holmes, daughter of
George, and Ann Croysdale, wife of James Croysdale of Neighbour.
I commit the guardianship of my son to my good friends Joseph Halliwell of Leeds, Innholder,
John Scott of Leeds, Innholder, and Joseph Wood of Leeds, Attorney at Law. I also appoint then executors.
