John Powell - 20th January 1800 - X038

Knaresborough, Yeoman

My property in Hilton Lane and my real estate at Scotton to my wife Mary Powell, whom I appoint executor, and my uncle-in-law George Vitty during his life. At the death of George I give the premises, except those occupied by David Greenhow and John Wilkinson to my wife. At her death :

To my daughter Ann Stephenson the three houses occupied by William Sinsley, Thomas Benson, and John Simpson. At her death the same to her daughter Sarah Stephenson.

To my daughter Mary Greenhow the three houses occupied by Robert Robinson, Stephen Barf, and William Henlock. At her death the same to her daughter Mary Greenhow.

To Thomas Matson my estate at Scotton.

To my son William Powell the house in which I now live, also the house occupied by Charles Matterson chargeable with and annuity of £4 to my uncle George Vitty.

To my son John Powell the two houses occupied by David Greenhow and John Wilkinson. Also £100 when he reaches 21. Also the house occupied by Martin Curry.

The residue of my estate to my son William.
