Lance Corporal Thomas Luke Abbott

 
 

Harrogate Herald – 8th December 1915

Photo - Mr and Mrs John W Abbott, of The Stores, Dacre Banks, have received an official notice that their son, Thomas Luke (Tom) Abbott, has been wounded and admitted to the 2nd Canadian Stationary Hospital, Boulogne, suffering from a shell wound in he back. He joined the 1/5th West Yorks Regiment shortly after the outbreak of war, and went out to France during the early part of this year as stretcher-bearer. Previous to joining the Army he was under Mr C E Rivers, Harrogate borough engineer and surveyor.

Lance Corporal T L Abbott (WY), who previous to the war was employed in the Borough Surveyor's Office, was married at Christ Church, Harrogate, on May 18th, to Miss R E Wood, of Harrogate.
