Corporal J A Atkinson

Roll of Honour

The sad news was received on Monday night that Corporal J A Atkinson, only son of the late Mr George Atkinson, of Fairfield, Forest Moor, and Mrs Atkinson, of Moorland Grove, Forest Lane, Starbeck, had been wounded on the 18th inst., and died on his way to the clearing station. Corporal Atkinson was in the Regular Army, and was in a certain Company up to July 22nd, when he was transferred to another Company. He had been out at the Front since January 8th, 1915, and had been through many of the principal battles. He was previously wounded on July 22nd, and was at the No. 1 Canadian General Hospital till he recovered.
