Private G Blacker

Harrogate Herald - 4th April 1917

Private G Blacker, writing from Egypt, says :

Glad to say I am keeping well, and hope you are the same. Our camp is going to be favoured with a concert by Miss Lena Ashwell's Concert Party some time in April. I think they are on tour out here. We have had a heavy downfall of rain, and it did not forget to let us know it, but pleased to say the rainy season is drawing to a close; then I think we shall have about eight of nine months of fine weather. Being out here is all right. I have missed the wintry weather, which, according to the papers, you have been experiencing.
