More Starbeck men have been killed in action :

Private Arthur Albert Broadbent, of the York and Lancaster Regiment, was the son of Mr Abraham Broadbent, Belmont Crossing, Starbeck, and was killed in action on May 8th. He was 42 years of age. For 13 years he worked as a platelayer for the North-Eastern Railway at Starbeck, but on the outbreak of was he was at Denaby Main Pit.
