Private J Brown

Harrogate Herald - 29th December 1915

Chats with the Wounded

Private J Brown, of the Royal Field Artillery, is in the St Nicholas Hospital with ear trouble caused by shell fire. He is a driver and has been at the front nine months. His work consisted mainly of taking ammunition up to the guns and of helping to fetch the guns out of action. On one occasion he was checking ammunition when a high explosive shell burst quite near. Though he was not hit at all the concussion following up other shell fire set the ear trouble going. He is going on nicely.
