Corporal Burdon

Harrogate Herald - 23rd May 1917

Chats with the Wounded

Corporal Burdon, of the Durham Light Infantry, is in the Heatherdene Hospital after being invalided home from the Front with sciatica. He has been in bed five months, and is now wheeled about by a comrade in hospital in a bath chair. He is an actor by profession, and has appeared in drama at Harrogate playhouses. Cpl Burdon speaks highly of the treatment the wounded men receive in the Heatherdene institution and of the kindness of the matron and nursing sisters. The corporal is making steady progress.
