Fred Catton

Harrogate Herald - 5th Jun 1918

Private Fred K Catton, son of Mr and Mrs Catton, 15 Togo Street, Oatlands Mount, Harrogate, who was reported missing from March 26th, wrote to his parents from Limberg, Germany, on Friday, stating he was a prisoner.

[Note : Herbert NAYLOR is shown in the Street Directory for 15 Togo Street. However, there is a William CATTON at 4 Stonefall Cottages, Hookstone Road, Harrogate]

[Note : 24th March 1918 was the first Battle of Bapaume, on the Somme. It lasted two days. This could well be where he was taken prisoner]
