Driver J W Chapman, RFA, son of Mr & Mrs W Chapman, Low Green, Pateley Bridge, was seriously wounded on August 14th, and now lies in hospital in England. He and others were caught in a perfect torrent of shells, and his horse and a mule alongside were both killed. Driver Chapman is wounded in the body.
