W Featherstone

Harrogate Herald - 22nd August 1917

W H Breare letter

The father of W Featherstone, of the West Yorks, has been in to tell me his son has been wounded for the third time, and is in hospital. I had the privilege of reading the soldier's letter to his mother. It is a beautiful letter, and I should have been glad to publish it, but it is of too private a nature. At all events, I am glad I have seen it, because I know now what a good chap W Featherstone is by the tenderness which he shows his mother. The lad's battalion had it that he was "missing", but happily all the while he was in hospital, and doing well.
