CQMS Watkin Wynn Fowler

Claro Times – 3rd September 1915

News has been received that CQMS Fowler, of the West Yorkshire Regiment, has been killed in action in the Dardanelles on August 9th . CQMS Fowler was a native of Manchester, and 32 years of age. He served for eight years with the colours, and was on the reserve. When war broke out he rejoined, and sailed for the Dardanelles at the beginning of July. During the period he was on the reserve he was engaged as a postman at Harrogate, and a large circle of friends in the town will deeply regret his death.
