Harrogate Herald - 13th February 1918

I wish to add my appreciation of your letter, which I have the pleasure of reading in the herald. It is the one thing I look forward to each week. It seems to bring one home nearer, and, although not a native, I look upon Harrogate as my home, having lived there for the past six years. I am with an Employment Company out here, and, although not in the fighting, still we are trying to "do our bit" at a School of Instruction for Officers and NCO's there are eight Beechwood Boys stationed here; I believe three or four of them are Harrogate chaps, but I only know the name of one, which is Brown. We had I Brown, the painter and decorator, and a Jim Atley from Knaresborough in our company, but they were both moved elsewhere. Another chap, Ostick, from Knaresborough, is the only other Harrogate district one with us. Wishing your valuable paper every success.
