Sapper G Heward

 
 

Harrogate Herald - 9th May 1917

Roll of Honour

Mrs G Heward, Brearton, near Harrogate, has received a letter from the War Office, stating that her husband, Sapper G Heward, has been wounded in the left leg, and is in hospital in France. Sapper Heward was transferred a few weeks ago as a bomb thrower in the West Yorkshire Regiment. Before joining the Army he was employed as a mason on the Nidd Hall estate 15.5 years, and is one of the four sons serving abroad of Mrs Heward, Farnham, near Knaresborough.

Died of Wounds - Sapper G Heward, West Yorks, of East View, Brearton, near Ripley, has died of wounds received in action on December 29th, 1917.
