Gunner W Jameson is in hospital in France suffering from sores caused by gas. Here he met his first Harrogate pal, Jack Ritson, of the Leeds Pals.

Gunner W Jameson writes : 

I was very sorry to see in the paper of one of my pals, Harold Dawson, being badly wounded. Plenty of mud about, but we keep on smiling and looking forward for the day of peace to come, so we can get back to dear old Blighty. I am just about to go back up the line again after three weeks' rest. Wishing you and your paper every success.
