Gunner E Littlefield

Harrogate Herald - 4th July 1917

W H Breare letter

Gunner E Littlefield has been out in Mesopotamia since last January, and during all the intervening time has had no letters from home. He wants to know if his wife and children are well. the wife has been writing every week since February, but he has received no letters. He will get the Herald, however, and his sister has asked me to convey information to him. I now do so with pleasure. Sorry, dear Littlefield, that you have had no news, but, on the other hand, glad to be able to tell you that your wife and children are safe and well. your sister, Mrs Corpse, called in to explain the situation, so you will understand that your wife was written regularly. I am afraid you must attribute your lack of letters to mails going down.
