Driver Edward A Megginson

Harrogate Herald - 1st August 1917

WS H Breare letter

Driver Edward A Megginson, of the RFA, had influenza, which turned to pneumonia. He has been in various hospitals, but is now discharged, fully recovered. Went to a brigade ammunition column last week, was then home on leave. He is the son of Mr & Mrs Megginson, Diamond Place, Harrogate. I was glad to know that Megginson luckily received the parcel I sent him before going into hospital; so he was able to enjoy it.

Harrogate Herald - 9th January 1918

Roll of Honour

Mrs Alfred Megginson, 11 Diamond Place, received a notification from the War Office on the 5th that her son, Driver Edward Megginson, RFA, was severely wounded in Flanders. A letter from her son received at the same shows that he was wounded about five weeks ago, but now happily "mending nicely". Megginson was 20 on New Year's Day, having spent three birthdays at the Front.
