Private Frederick Harold Miller

Harrogate Herald - 27th June 1917

Roll of Honour

Mrs Miller, of Beckside Cottage, Low Lane, Clint, Ripley, Harrogate, would be very grateful for any news concerning her husband, Private F H Miller (West Yorks), who is officially reported as missing since the 3rd of May, and is naturally anxious for further news.

Harrogate Herald - 1st August 1917

H Newby, acknowledging the Herald, says :

I am sure it is quite a treat to get a bit of local news, as the paper gives you a good insight of what is going on at home. I am pleased to tell you that I have met a New Park chap I know called Fred Needham. He joined our battalion a fortnight ago. He is about the only local lad I know in our battalion. We are out for a rest at present, as you will see by the Church Army paper, and the countryside where we are resting is most picturesque; everything looks so peaceful. I am sorry to see Fred Miller from Clint is missing. he was an old workmate of mine.
