Letters

Private Stimson says :

I have been completely lost without the old paper this last week. You see, I have been at the CCS suffering with a temperature of 104, but pleased to say I'm being discharged tomorrow. It is no catch being in hospital out in France, I can tell you, although the sisters here are excellent, but I've been on pins and needles to get back to duty. The MO marked me for the base, but I asked him if I could stay here instead of going down there, as there is always a possibility of losing your unit and being shoved into something else where they are under strength, and that would not do for William after being with our own boys 2.5 years. When I finish reading the Knaresborough Post I pass it on to W Leng and J Naylor, who are more than pleased when I tell them I have had the paper sent.
