Roll of Honour

We regret to record the death, which took place, after two days' illness, of private Rowland C Simper, FRCO, LRAM, of the 4/1st Herts, who, up to joining the colours, was organist at St John's Church, Newport, Barnstable. The deceased soldier on Sunday last played the Dead March from Saul on the organ at the military service at St Luke's Church in memory of another soldier who had died. Private Simper was out so late as Monday, and his early demise will occasion much sorrow amongst his comrades and friends. He was a talented musician, and both in military and private life was held in high esteem.
