Superintendent Clerk H Simpson, brother of Mr F W Simpson, of the Black Lion Hotel, Boroughbridge, near Harrogate, and Mr W Simpson, General Tarleton Inn, Ferrensby, has been recommended for the Distinguished Conduct Medal for gallantry and distinguished service in connection with operations on the field.

Warrant Officer Simpson, who went out in August, has been chief general staff clerk with Lieutenant General Sir E A H Allenby at headquarters. He joined the Royal Engineers as a Sapper in 1900.
