Military Honours

Corporal W H Smith, RE, whose home is at 12a Park Parade, Harrogate, who has been awarded the Military Medal for conspicuous bravery, had previously been mentioned I despatches. He has been out 21 months, and is now in Italy. Smith will be well-know as a local sportsman, having at one time occupied the position of secretary of the old Harrogate Rugby Football Club. He held the vocation of a joiner, and prior to the war assisted Mr Harold Blackburn when the latter gave his flying displays on the Stray in High Harrogate.
