Roll of Honour

Private Leonard Walbank (West Yorks), son of Mrs Drayton, 13 Duchy Avenue, Harrogate, was wounded on June 7th, but the authorities have no information as to where he is. He joined the Army in August, 1914, and was wounded in the big push in July last. After a period at Grove House Hospital he was sent back to the Front in December last, and was wounded again as above stated. He was employed by Mr R T Hodgson's, Station Bridge, prior to the war.

W H Breare letter

Private Leonard Walbank was wounded on the 7th June, and is missing. Try to find out all you can about him. He is probably a prisoner, and I hope we shall have news of him.

Harrogate Herald 25th July 1917

We understand that the parents of Private Leonard Walbank have heard nothing about him being in hospital in Manchester.
