Private Douglas Walker

Roll of Honour

Private Douglas Walker, son of the late Tom Walker, of Dingwell, Sleights, near Whitby, was wounded in action on September 4th. During his stay in hospital he had a pint of blood taken from him to save a comrade's life, but he will not give the name of the hospital nor the name of his comrade. he is still in hospital. When he joined up he was living with his aunt, Miss P Walker, at Birstwith.
