Harrogate Herald - 21st April 1915

Private Robert Jackson, 5th West Yorkshire Regiment, whose photo we give this week is a son of Mrs Jackson, 38 College Road, Harlow Hill, Harrogate. Gunner G E Wallace, Royal Field Artillery, whose photo also appears, is stationed at Shaftsbury, Dorset. Private A H Wright is with the 2/5th West Yorkshire Regiment in Matlock.

An interesting family group in our picture page today is that of Trooper Harry Wright (Yorkshire Hussars) and Private William Wright (Northumberland Fusiliers), now in France, who are brothers, and sons of Mr and Mrs Herbert Wright, of 42 Upper Denmark Street, Harrogate; Arthur Wright (of the West Yorks), son of Mr and Mrs Edwin Wright, of 12a Franklin Square, cousin of the above; and Lance Corporal A Blackstone (of the West Yorks), 2 Crab Lane, Bilton, who is the uncle of the above.

Roll of Honour

Corporal A H Wright, son of Mr & Mrs E Wright, 12a Franklin Square, Harrogate, was wounded in the right arm by shrapnel on April 14th, and is now in the 1st Western Hospital, Liverpool.
