Harrogate Toffee
|
|
|
Harrogate's, no doubt, a very sweet place,
A very sweet place,
Such is the case,
For sourness you search, but you won't find a trace,
Harrogate's, no doubt, a very sweet place.
The Toffee it's famed for is, really, unique,
Day after day, week after week,
The folks eat so much they get queer, so to speak,
And then from the waters a remedy seek.
They get cured;
They're assured
They can keep eating toffee, the sweet they adore,
And they do,
'Til all's blue,
And the longer they stay there they eat more and more ;
Then again they feel rummy,
With pains in the tummy,
So the Cure they again go upon,
When they're better they go back to toffee again,
And so it goes on and on.
