Hampsthwaite, Yeoman

All my Copyhold property in Clint to William Raper of Clint, chargeable with :

£100 to Joseph Robinson who married Ann Cooper, daughter of Francis Cooper.

An annuity of £10 to Elias Deighton of Wetherby.

An annuity of £4 to my servant Mary Bickerdike, as long as she remains single and in my employ at my death.

All my Freehold property in Hampsthwaite to John Render junior, of Birstwith, Cordwainer, now occupied by Thomas Thackeray and Robert Wardman. This property cannot be sold until 25 years from the date of this my Will.

An annuity of £4 to my servant Mary Bickerdike, as long as she remains single and in my employ at my death. [This is a definite repeat, but it is not clear if this is an additional annuity chargeable to the Hampsthwaite property]

£10 to Jonathan Wilson of Rowdan Lane.

£10 to John Hardisty of Swintcliff, and £5 to his wife Mary Hardisty, as a mark of their honesty.

£10 to James Stubbs of Hampsthwaite.

£10 to Richard Simpson of Hampsthwaite.

£10 to Christopher Reynard of Hartwith.

£10 to Thomas Parlour of Clint.

£50 to Thomas Metcalf of Hampsthwaite, whom I appoint executor.

Witnesses : Joseph Lax, Elizabeth Brown, Benjamin Richardson

Probate 1st February 1804.

Inventory by William Cook, John Hardisty, John Simpson, and Richard Simpson available.
