Harrogate Herald – 12th December 1917
W H Breare letter
Driver G Webster, Royal Field Artillery, at one time
worked in our establishment. His home is 43 Regent Street,
Harrogate. After leaving us he drove a cab. He has been out in
France two years and seven months, during which he was seven weeks
in hospital owing to an accident. Driver Allinson, of Bilton,
is in the same battery and well. Driver Webster has five sons in the
Army. One, a sergeant of the West Yorks, who was wounded at Loos. He
is now at Ripon in the 2/5th West Yorks. One is in Egypt, a motor
mechanic; another in the 2/5th West Yorks; another on a submarine,
one in training, and another shortly of military age. Webster looked
in to see me the other day. He was in rare form and happy as a
sand-boy. He couldn't well be otherwise, could he?

W H Breare letter
I have just had a letter from Arthur Allinson, who is a
driver. He is in No. 1 Red Cross Hospital, Salisbury, Wiltshire,
with trench fever, but is going on well.
