Mrs Barker, of Viaduct View, Batchelor Gardens, Bilton, Harrogate, received information from the War Office on Wednesday morning that her husband, Private J W Barker, of the West Yorks Regiment, was lying ill at 12th General Hospital, Rouen, suffering from gas poisoning, sprained ankle, and fractured arm.
