Regiment, who lives in Regent Avenue, Harrogate, arrived home on

trenches on Sunday evening.
Harrogate Herald – 11th February 1920
Council Minutes – 9th February
An interesting ceremony was now introduced. This was
the formal presentation by the Mayor of the Military Medal to Private
G Barwick, 9th West Riding Regiment, and Sapper A L Dickinson,
of the Royal Engineers, for bravery in the field.
The Mayor, in making the presentations, said he
hoped that they would wear their decorations in honour of what they
had done for the King and country and look upon them as duty done
and country served, and that they would live long enough to enjoy
the distinction.
