Harrogate Herald - 5th December 1917
Private W Blades writes :
My wife sends me the Knaresborough Post every week. It is very
nice to read about the men one knows. There are three men from the
Knaresborough district here, so I pass the paper on to them when I
have read it. I see that you have some pipes to dispose of. I should
be glad of one if they have not all gone. It is difficult getting
one out here. One of our chaps is able to play a mouth organ, but he
has not been able to get one out here. It would help to pass the
winter nights on a bit and cheer us up.
