Roll of Honour

Lance Corporal F Blakeborough (Liverpool Scottish) was wounded slightly in right foot on July 22nd, and has been in hospital a fortnight. He was wounded again on August 23rd. Writing home he says : "I went back into the trenches at midnight; at 12.30 we went over the top, but the Germans had tons of barbed wire, which we did not expect. When we had got fats in this the enemy opened fire with machine guns and snipers. I was hit in the palm of my right hand by a sniper's bullet about one o'clock". He is now in hospital at Canterbury.
